Avast’s game mode optimizes your computer’s settings for gaming. It mutes notifications and stops update to help you concentrate on the game. It also adjusts your PC settings to ensure that gaming takes precedence over other applications that might drain the CPU or slow performance.

When you play, you need plenty of resources like CPU, GPU, RAM MEMORY, and more. Other recording and application processes can remove these tools from your game, causing the application to slow down or stop working. Avast’s game mode allows you to concentrate solely on video games, by temporarily removing background tasks and advising you of any interruptions that could occur.

It also minimizes the impact on your gaming performance when you run antivirus scans and upgrades by stopping and detecting these to avoid interruptions. This is a huge benefit for gamers who don’t want to have to stop their gameplay to do regular maintenance or risk being infected by a virus while they are trying to play.

To enable avast game mode to enable it, just launch the antivirus program, and then click the menu icon in the top-right corner of your Windows taskbar. Then, select “Settings” and then turn the switch next to Enable Game Mode to on. If enabled, a specific icon will appear in your tray of the system to indicate that Game Mode is active.

You can also access an individual page in the Avast software to add specific games to the list and automatically switch them into Game Mode whenever you play them. However, you may wish to disable avast game mode at some point due to one of several reasons. You can do this through the Avast user interface and we’ll demonstrate how in this article.
