A data sharing tool allows businesses to share live and secure data with their business. This helps teams solve a wide range of critical business problems, such as breaking down silos, accelerating project completion, empowering collaboration by ensuring transparency of data, and gaining new insights.
As the number of enterprise IT applications grows and become more complex, the need for solutions for real-time data sharing has become a necessity for achieving business objectives. From website visitor behavior to the data from IoT devices in your workplace or power plant, the volume of data is growing exponentially, and generating an equally huge number of data integrations.
Many of these integrations are driven by the desire to improve efficiency, analytics and revenue streams. The key challenge is how to move these massive volumes of data, on scale, from source to destination without losing its value. The traditional methods like SFTP and pre-signed URLs for object stores and data migration via ETL processes don’t scale to the amount of data needed and can only apply to only a single vendor (e.g. Oracle, AWS Redshift or Snowflake).
There are many solutions that can help address the challenges of sharing real-time data. A class of platforms, which are aware of the data they hold and serve as trusted intermediaries between various applications and applications, could help ease some of these issues. This shifts the burden of managing data flows to the platform provider and could speed up and simplify data integration by removing some of the complex Retry and Re-Transmission features which are inherent to many traditional tools.
